Description
Sports footwear testing. Split-screen view of a sports trainer (bottom) with motion sensors (four round objects) and a computer model (top) of foot and leg bones in the trainer. The computer model is based on the results from the motion sensors. This is part of an experiment using motion sensors to record the movements of the leg joints (ankle, knee, hip) in a runner using a set of sports trainers. These results can help modify or improve the design of the trainers so that they support these joints and reduce the chances of injuries. Photographed at the Adidas research centre in Scheinfeld, Germany.
